With Postscript, one never knows.  Postscript can encode a bitmap in
a hundred different ways because it isn't a format, it's a language.
A JPEG EPS is most likely an Encapsulated Postscript file that happens
to use JPEG encoding to store a bitmap, in which case you're probably
SOL.  Just for fun, try looking at one of them in a text editor.

I get PS files all the time from workstation people, and I always have
to convert them by hand, which is a pain.  Considerate people leave PS
to printers and give each other files in a civilized and less wasteful
exchange format.  BTW, those of you thinking about putting LW on a PC
should look into the Windows version of Photoshop.  It's useful but
not cheap.
